Odysseia-In is the leading Bulgarian adventure and special interest tour operator. We are a for-profit company specialising in adventure, cultural, eco, village and rural tourism. In 1990, just after the fall of communism, Odysseia-In became the first Bulgarian tour operator to offer sustainable adventure tourism. Since then we have made significant progress in our business and in awareness in this country, and we are still the leaders in Bulgaria. We hope that there will be some other Bulgarian tour operators joining us to develop responsible tourism here - we believe that we set a good example to follow.
Odysseia-In believes that the key components of sustainable tourism that a tour operator must practice are:
- Keep the Money Local
Whenever possible buy local in the communities visited, and incorporate overnight stays in rural and remote regions.
- Create Job Opportunities
Hire, train and encourage local people to get involved with their tourism product. and
- Protect Local Environment and Culture
Run tours to minimise impact on the local environment and cultural heritage, and give the communities visited a financial incentive to maintain and protect both. and
- Give Back to the Communities Visited
